Daniel+Lauren…Polka+Dots
Negris LeBrum 1980's Capsule Collection

Style blog Daniel+Lauren ran a story about the 1980’s capsule collection from VERY New York public relations client Negris LeBrum under the title “It’s Spring & It’s In The 80’s… The 1980’s!”  Under the creative direction of Travis Hamilton, the Houston-based NYFW runway collection featured a small collection of Black & White bold polka dots, as well as some other trends of the era like Acid Washed denim & collegiate logo sweaters, as well as a “Negris” emblazoned Rugby shirt, which is our personal favorite, harking back to the style made iconic by Italian fast fashion house “Benetton”.

Lending some intellectual weight to the story was none other than one of our most recent clients, fashion writer & vintage clothing enthusiast Vivian Kelly (@thefashionhistorian), who was quoted as saying,“Polka dots were the staple of the 80’s professional wardrobe. The graphic pattern could be found on every woman’s back from the entry level cubicle to the corner suite near the board room. Polka dots were made iconic by the likes of every influencer of the era from Tess McGill in ‘Working Girl’, played by Melanie Griffith or any number of ensembles worn by Princess Diana.”
